Madrid: Barrio Moncloa. This is our way to begin our column about the neighbourhoods in 2019. Many students, close to one of the most important streets of Madrid, the park… We would definitely choose this area for our stay in Madrid. After these innocent spoilers, let’s begin our post and enjoy a walk through the beautiful Moncloa.
Are you looking for a room? Many nice areas and many neighbourhoods: this may be a problem, especially if you are new in town. In order to help students and young workers who decide to move to Madrid, we have created our column. Besides suggesting you to live in a shared flat and besides providing you with many accommodation options, helpMadrid is providing you with detailed descriptions of some of the most central neighbourhoods in Madrid. This is our way, and our affectionate readers know it, to ease your life when you still have to move to your new home away from home and you are not familiar with the city and what it offers.
So, shared flats in good locations. It is easier said than done! helpMadrid is here to guide you through a new neighbourhood: Moncloa. We have already made some walks in many nice areas of Madrid, such as Sol, the elegant Salamanca, the alternative Chueca, the intellectual Barrio de Las Letras… Are you ready to discover the student area of the city? Let’s begin with a quick overview.
Barrio Moncloa has always been important for the city of Madrid. The headquarters of the Spanish Police, the university (Universidad Complutense) and the lighthouse are some of the strengths and the peculiarities of this neighbourhood. The green areas are a great source of amusement for both students and families. Where is this neighbourhood located? It is close to Malasaña and Chamberì and crossing the park, you will reach one of the best viewpoints in Madrid. Should we go deeper and discover the offer and the potential of this area? Well, that’s what we are here to do.
First of all, the museums. We are in love with every single museum offered by the city of Madrid, but the ones that you can find in this neighbourhood are quite special. The first one is the Museo del Traje, all about fashion, textiles and many interesting workshops. The second one in the Museum of the Americas and this is something you really need to visit! The cultural offer is wide and having these two museums close to your shared flat.
Free time will not be a problem anymore. Today we want to suggest you an itinerary that will make you spend an unforgettable afternoon. Our journey begin at the lighthouse, to enjoy a spectacular view of the Spanish capital, than a beautiful walk in the park to detox a bit. Follows a beautiful visit of the Debod temple and the enchanting view of the Royal Palace. Before going home, a nice drink and some tapas on a rooftop and last, a quick walk to go home and enjoy your shared flat with a warm cup of tea. Have we won you over to the charm of this nice neighbourhood?
We should not need to specify that, but in this neighbourhood as in any other that we have picked up for you, the services are countless. Supermarkets, shopping malls, smaller shops, restaurants, offices, hospital, printers… Well, this list is potentially endless. Public transports and connections are good, too. Busses, metro stations, trains: no way not to reach your destination ahahah.
We will always suggest you the best areas of Madrid, therefore, this one needed to live up to the others. Moncloa is the perfect neighbourhood if you are a student or if you want to live in a calm area in the city centre. Green areas, services, shopping centres and much more… helpMadrid has chosen some shared flats there, so that its clients have the chance to spend an unforgettable semester and enjoy their stay.
