Madrid: Arganzuela district

Madrid: Arganzuela district

Arganzuela district, the district in Madrid where we will walk today. A district and not a neighbourhood. This walk will be longer than the others because we have thought that dividing this area would have been a mistake: every small neighbourhood has something peculiar, but, if we unify them, the outcome is amazingly interesting. Long story short, we could not choose and, therefore, we have included all of them in one blog post! Let’s be honest ahahah.

A shared flat in Arganzuela is one of the best housing solutions you will ever find. This district is central, but not too central: less tourists, better services and very good connections. If you wish to visit an exhibition, it will not take too much time because some of the most important museums in Madrid are just around the corner. Enough reasons to look for your shared flat in this district! As the choice of your shared flat location is important, we want to provide you with some evidences. This blog post offers us the chance to tell you why this district is so special.

First information, Arganzuela district entails seven neighbourhoods. Respectively from North to South to East: Imperial, Acacias, Chopera, Legazpi, Delicias, Palos de Moguer and Atocha. Second information, the buildings have three main architectural currents: Neo-Mudéjar (Moorish), rationalism and Cast-iron architecture. But… the best is yet to come.

This format is not new for you, therefore we can go straight forward and begin our three sections (monuments and museums, free time, city life). What will surprise you is the amount of information that you already have about this district. Actually, talking about Madrid, physical exercise, parks and history, we have indirectly revealed some of the main attractions of the area. Nonetheless, it will be fun remember them and discover something new, too.

Monuments and museums

Walking through the streets, enjoy the building of this area until the amazing Atocha station. Once you are there, you are close to one of the most famous Spanish museums: the Reina Sofia. Another museum that you can visit in Arganzuela is the Railway Museum that hosts one of the largest historic railroad collections in Europe. Noteworthy, are the two bridges Puente de Toledo and the Arganzuela footbridge.

Free time

This section may contain only two words, Madrid Rio; nonetheless, we will describe in detail the amazing urban park that offers recreation in the city centre. To quote ourselves, these is the description we have provided of Madrid Rio: Today’s walk will lead us to an amazing open space in Madrid: this park is actually more than a park. Madrid Rio is fitness, Madrid Rio is culture, Madrid Rio is nature and it is even shopping (…).”  This park has many fitness areas where you can exercise; you can run or go by bike. Madrid Rio is close to the river, perfect for a picnic during spring sunny days. Madrid Rio has two of the prettiest bridges in Madrid: the old Puente de Toledo designed by Pedro de Ribera (do you remember him?) and the modern Arganzuela footbridge designed by Dominique Perrault. What else… You can have a nice and entertaining afternoon in the Matadero or you can go shopping to the mall. You will never have free time in Arganzuela ahahah.

Services

Talking about services, you will never find a better district. As mentioned above, there is the shopping mall: many services all in one building. Grocery shops, pharmacies, post offices, banks are everywhere: you are spoilt for choice. Moreover, if you want to buy some delicious local vegetables and fruit, every month there is the Mercado Productores. Public transports are excellent as well. Moreover, you may have noticed it, one of the neighbourhoods in this district is Atocha: this means that one of the main stations of the city is located in this district. Metro stations, train station, shopping malls, banks, local markets… There is no better place to live!

You have all the information to make your choice, now. Undoubtedly, you know the main strengths of this district and its neighbourhoods. The only thing you are missing now is a shared flat, your home away from home, your cosy nest, your secret corner. We suggest you to have a look at our blog post dedicated to the accommodation topic; it will help you during this difficult choice.

Actually, helpMadrid is here to help. The name itself suggests it ahahah. We really hope that we are going on this quest. Social media, blog, customer service, web site… all these tools have been created to support both our clients and any other person who is planning to move abroad.

This time we have been extremely efficient and the blog post will end here. Many interesting posts are yet to come… we will spend an amazing March together.

Stay tuned!

Me trae buenos recuerdos Arganzuela, una de las mejores cosas que hice fue aprender trading en MDC trading academy, sin duda la mejor decisión.
