Tips for cheap travel

Tips for cheap travel

Hello Readers,

While in Madrid, you may find yourselves needing to travel around the city but wanting to travel around the world. Today, we have a few tips for cheap travel while you’re in Madrid, including some specific help and tips for traveling around Europe or even for getting to the United States of America. Buckle up, here we go.

In Madrid, there are plenty of beautiful places, historical sites, and incredible views that you should make the most of.

Tip 1#: One of the most efficient ways to get around the city is to take the Metro de Madrid. There are different kinds of tickets available for use here, but you may want to consider purchasing a 30-day ticket. If you are under 26, this ticket only costs 20 € and allows you to ride the metro anxiety-free. For more specifics on the lines running, and even historical information about the metro, click here.

Have you ever been dying of hunger and needing food NOW? Have you ever been late to a date or important meeting?

Tip 2#: Try out a rental bike or scooter to beat the crowds. These can speed you up and keep you from breaking a sweat before that big event you just can’t be late to.

After exploring the bountiful beauty found in this city, you may want to take a trip with a few of your new friends here (consider looking for a shared flat to make finding friends even easier). If you want to go to the USA, there are a few things you need to think about while making your plans.

Tip 3#: Know where you want to go before you get there. This may seem obvious to some, but traveling within the country can be quite expensive. If you want it to be a cheap trip, know the places you want to visit, and try to fly as close as you can.

Tip 4#: Think about staying in a hotel just outside the major cities you want to tour. The hotels here are often substantially cheaper than any you can find in the city. If you do this though, you will have to find a way to get into the city. Many hotels offer buses to and from the city included in the price of your stay. If you can’t find a hotel like this, you can always call a cab or take a local subway or bus.

Tip 5#: Try to buy your tickets 3 to 6 months before you travel. This seems to be the cheapest, safest time to buy them. If you wait too long to buy tickets, the price for them rises, leaving you with no money to use while traveling. Sometimes, last minute flights can be even cheaper than flights bought in advance, but you may not be able to get a ticket for the place you want to go.

Tip 6#: Give websites like Kayak, eDreams, SkyScanner or TripAdvisor a try. These are both great resources for planning a trip because, with just a few clicks, they can show you all the available flight information for any time and place you choose. They both can also help you find a hotel in the area, as well as a place to eat and sites to see while visiting.
Oh, a little smart suggestion: don’t forget to surf the web in incognito browsing mode, so that these sites won’t use cookies and won’t be able to rise prices every time you get into their websites.
