Escape rooms in Madrid, a great idea to train your brain in an entertaining way. Moreover, this activity can turn a boring evening into a funny evening with your friends. Our cultural column this month will be full of riddles and we will solve them all to escape from the room.
Actually, it would be amazing to make an escape room game all together. In order to do that, you need first to move to Madrid. If you still need an accommodation, we suggest you to look for a shared flat. First, it is easier to find a room rather than a flat. Then, it is much cheaper because you do not share only the rent, but also the expenses. Last, but not least, you will meet new friends since the very beginning: you have some mate to make the escape rooms!
The location of your accommodation is important, too. If you live in an area with no services, it will be unlikely that you can spend pleasant months in Madrid. By living close to metro stations, grocery shops, banks and other ordinary shops, you will have the chance to enjoy the city and its… escape rooms.
For the one who have never heard anything about this new trend, the escape rooms are physical escape games in which you have to solve puzzles and riddles using clues, hints and… your brain. The escape rooms have different levels of difficulty, so that you can choose yours and be sure to have fun opening padlocks with your friends. Moreover, you are not alone inside the room/ the rooms; this aspect is great to work on teamwork skills and to “win”.
Madrid, as many other European cities in the last years, has plenty of these escape rooms. It is the new trend and we find this entertaining activity amazingly brainy. They have only a weak point: you can do the game only once (doing it a second time is pointless as you have already escaped and you probably remember all the riddles). In order to share with you this experience, here our shortlist of some of the best escape room games helpMadrid has solved here (yes, we did it abroad, too! It is an obsession).
Escape rooms’ list
Fox in the Box are the first of our list for two main reasons. First, they have many different locations and many escape rooms. Second, one of their rooms has been the only one we have failed. Unfortunately, we have chosen one of the most difficult (we were proficient fugitive ahahah), but one of the most interesting… For the curious readers, it was the one of the Bank. No more details, otherwise it becomes too easy ahahah
Located in Gran Via, The X-Door offers you two different escape rooms: the easy one called “White & Black” and the difficult one “The haunted prison”. Our favourite, the easy one ahahah. Actually, it is the perfect “first time” escape room; you will have fun and your will escape (granted).
As Fox in the Box, this one has many different rooms and we have not played in all of them yet, but we are working on it. We did the Casino Room, but we are looking forward to playing in the escapes rooms “Who killed David Kentley” and “Edison vs Tesla”, and “Jurassic Lab” and “Vatican”, and… well in all their rooms ahahah
This is not the first of the list, but, without any doubt, it is one of our favourites as it has been our first escape room game ever. As you may have already guessed (have a look at our posts about cosy bookshops or Spanish authors), we are in love with literature and we could not miss an escape room Orwell-1984 themed.
Oh my word, we must book now. We are kind of obsessed by La Casa de Papel; we have appreciated the TV series so much, that we will love this escape room for sure. Can you imagine being part of the team and having to escape with all the money? Thrilling!
Now, you have just to share this information with your flatmates, book your room (do it in advance because this game is quite appreciated) and solve the riddles. If you have never played, we kindly suggest you to begin with the easiest ones; otherwise, you risk to have no fun and to remember this experience as the worst ever.
We really like providing you with plans for the weekend and helpMadrid has some ideas for the next blog posts. For sure, we will post soon the interview of Bienvenidxs Refugiadxos Alcalà de Henares, a “Getting around” and much more… Just stay tuned and, to get our posts notified, follow us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram!
Did you manage to get out of the escape room? Come on, it’s not rocket science! Solve the puzzles and open the padlocks…
