Dear readers,
A pinchos route, this is our tasty programme for today. Another great tasting for our “tasty” column. Actually, we do not know why we have not written anything about this delicious finger food. Let’s fix it with a route dedicated entirely to the tiny delicious pinchos.
Pinchos are one of the tastiest tapas you can eat in Madrid and, in general, in Spain. They are small pieces of bread with some topping on them. You may have the one with tortilla (would you like a post dedicated to a receipt of the traditional and universally known tortilla? Let us know asap!), the one with some salmon, the one with the Russian salad, with the aubergine, with sardines and olives… you will certainly find the one you like, your “pincho” guide spirit. Our favourite? The one with salmon.
That one was the first suggestion of the day. Here come the others: location, accommodation and… As you may imagine, if you live far away from the city centre, it will be less likely you will go out to eat. helpMadrid is redacting a neighbourhoods little guide (not literally); in order to decide where to live, check our blog posts about the neighbourhoods and follow our suggestions. Now, it is time to talk about the people with whom you will share this pinchos route. Eating pinchos alone is boring and sad; doing it with your friends is great. How can you gather many people to experience this gastro route? Easy peasy lemon squeezy! Shared flats. By living in a shared flat, you will meet many people and you can easily go out with them for dinner. You can become the official “Pincho Shared Flat”… Oh my word, we are exaggerating with this pinchos enthusiasm, but they are tasty, incredibly tasty.
As pinchos are always on our minds, let’s begin the pincho route!
If we have to choose where to eat pinchos, this place is undoubtedly the first of the list. Besides the tasty and original pinchos, you can taste some other finger food and tortillas that you will not easily forget. Salmon, Russian salad, aubergines, Bonito, tortilla, fried ball with potatoes and mushrooms (called Bomba, guess you why!)… Just go, taste them all and choose your favourites.
Actually, they do not serve the traditional pinchos. They are more crackers with delicious fish on it often combined with original souses. Inside this market, there are many stands, but we are talking about one of them in particular: La casa del Bacalao. Even though we would not define those pinchos, we have decided that this stand deserves a place in our list and we kindly suggest you to taste as many “crackers” as you can.
Think about a classy restaurant with high quality food. Apply this picture to a restaurant that offers mainly pinchos. El 34 is the classy pinchos place of your dreams. They have a Tapas Menu with a seasonal selection of Pinchos and, believe us, they taste as good as they look. Moreover, this place is located in Las Letras, one of our favourite neighbourhoods.
Txakolina Pintxoteca Madrilena
What a tasty place! It is not classy as the previous one, nor fancy as the first one or peculiar as La casa del Bacalao. It is authentic. We would define this restaurant as the place to taste Madrid. From the traditional flavours to the special one, its pinchos will never let you down! It will become one of your favourite tapas bars in the city.
This pintxos-bar has a quite wide selection of pinchos. From the simpler one to the fanciest ever with provolone, asparagus muslin or smoked eel and hazelnut gratin millefeuilles with Iberic bacon. The menu has three different lists for the pinchos: pinchos in a hurry, fanciful pinchos and intense pinchos. We have never tasted them, but, well, it has got our attention!
Hungry? We are hungry, too. This is the reason why we cannot wait to finish this blog post: between you and pinchos, we choose pinchos! We are kidding; you know that you are at the top of our list. Moreover, we are still here, this means that we have chosen our readers (as you are still reading, imagine us with hearts in our eyes!).
We joked; we did the pinchos route; we have eaten some. Now, it is time to talk business. Have you checked the post where we explain you the best housing solution for students and young workers? To spoiler you this blog post, helpMadrid suggests you to choose a shared flat for several good reasons:
- By interacting every day with international people, you will improve your language skills, both Spanish and English.
- You never get bored! You can plan many activities with your flat mates. Believe us, they will be your best friends.
- You will experience new cultures and grow. As they will come from all over the world, they will have different habits. You have to embrace them and, why not, learn new things.
- You can share the expenses and the rent.
By sharing expenses and rent, you will save enough money to eat as many pinchos with salmon as you wish. Actually, we will let you eat…
Enjoy your pinchos!
XOXO
