Let’s talk about this month plans. Many plans, movies to suggest you, books, restaurants and travels. We have all the right credentials to spend an amazing month together.

February is quite a special month, not only Carnival, but also Saint Valentine. Therefore, helpMadrid has decided to celebrate love in all its forms. Love for all those people who need our help because they live in less fortunate circumstances. The love for diversity and the love for equality. The love for travelling and new adventures, as well as love for ourselves.  Do not worry, we will celebrate the romantic love, too!

Furthermore, helpMadrid loves you and it has another suggestion for you! If you are planning to move to Madrid and begin a lovely stay in the Spanish capital, shared flats are the perfect housing solution for you.  A shared flat will easily turn into your home away from home. You will meet new friends who will become your family, you will save money by sharing rent and expenses, you will never get bored and you may possibly improve Spanish, too. You will love Madrid!

Actually, this month, we would like to make this post a multi-faceted love story. The very first protagonist will be the love for Madrid with events, plans, parties. Than many other kind of love will be described in our favourites: love for food, love for people, love for traveling…

 February Favourites

To eat

  • Vega: how many times have we mentioned this restaurant? We really appreciated every single dish we have tasted and we will keep going there to enjoy some of the tastiest evening we will ever have. By choosing this place, we are celebrating the love for food and, in particular, the love for their tiramisù!

To watch

  • Bohemian Rhapsody: this film is literally a love story. Love for music, love for your friends, love for life… You may have already watched it, nonetheless we couldn’t avoid to mention it among our favourites.
  • The Handmaid’s tale: what are we suggesting you? A dystopian TV series that will trap you. Literally, you will not be able to close your computer anymore ahahah. One episode leads to a dozen. Why have we chosen it for our February favourites? Because it depicts love for freedom, love for being able to say and do what we want to…

To read

  • The city of Joy by Dominique Lapierre: this is a great novel and an amazing love story (not without reasons, it is a best seller). Not a conventional one. This is the love story of a French priest and an American doctor for all those people who, despite their miserable conditions, give love and keep smiling. (EN)
  • Uno siempre cambia el amor de su vida por otro amor o por otra vida by Amalia Andrade: this Colombian writer will entertain you whether you have a broken heart or not. What do we like the most? The editing! By the way, this book will turn into an entertaining experience… Let us know! (ES)

 To visit

  • Toledo:it is theformer Spanish capital and it is one of the most charming cities close to our beloved Madrid. Before walking through the charming little streets of the old city and before visiting the majestic Cathedral and the market place called Zocodover, enjoy a breath-taking view from one of the viewpoints. A tiring walk, but the view is spectacular. Citylife Madrid organizes many trips there and we suggest you to join them: besides having the whole trip planned (transportation, activities and guided tours), you will meet many people from all over the world!

What do you think about our love stories? We have enjoyed each of them and we can assure you will, too. With which of our favourites should you begin? We suggest you to go back to your shared flat and begin with the novel by Dominique Lapierre, it is a page turning book.

Dear readers, it is time to let you watch the TV series we have suggested you. Our blog posts come back next week, therefore… Stay tuned!

Have a lovely February!
