Volunteering, we have never talked about this topic, at least not directly. We see this activity not as a simple selfless act. We see it as a hopeful sign, a tool we have to say that we care about the society and we care about other people. helpMadrid is making efforts to raise awareness among its clients and its readers. We have begun the 2019 with this mission and we are always more convinced that a serious commitment is necessary, especially for a company that works constantly with students and young workers. Social Media are a great tool to convey messages and we have decided to take advantage of them as much as possible.
Donations, interviews with organisations that strives every day to create a better society, vintage shops suggestions, recycling blog posts… We are on track, but there is so much to do! Therefore, this is a very good occasion to keep working and providing you with the names of five organisations where you could go volunteering. Moreover, if you live in a shared flat, you could ask your flat mates to support your mission: you will become even closer.

Bienvenidxs Refugiadxs Alcala de Henares
This organisation is the first of our list because we believe that they are dealing with an extremely current problem. Their aim is to channel outgoing and local initiatives that offer assistance to the refugees and people in need. They often organize donations campaigns and fundraising activities; they give lectures and organize workshops. Moreover, they plan remonstrance to demand the compliance of the International rights.

Imagina Más fights against discrimination, social exclusion and stands up for equality and diversity. They work hard for health, education, prevention and for the mitigation of the stigma of HIV. They act in three different levels. With the people that are directly affected by providing them with support and education. With the society by raising their awareness. With high schools, institutes and universities, by educating them in diversity and equality to avoid today’s discrimination patterns.

Here we are, with our third organization. We have talked about refugees; we have talked about HIV and diversity. Now, it is time to talk about social help. By choosing this ONG, you will have the chance to help many different categories of people. You will have the chance to volunteer in convicts, with homeless people, children, elderly people and people with health problems. 21 Kilòmetros cooperates with other organisations and they will always need your help!

This organisation, in coordination with different groups and institutions of the environment, strive every day to create an educational space for all those people who are vulnerable, marginalized and excluded from the society. They are doing a great job and we really think that, by volunteering with them, we could learn a lot about society. This is your chance to help and raise your social awareness at the same time.

Now, our last organisation. It is dedicated to all the pet lovers that are reading our blog post. This organisation operates with all those animals who have suffered abuses, have been abandoned and, therefore, need a new home. If you wish to cuddle those cuties and help them finding a new family, this may be the organisation perfect for you.

You have no excuses, especially the one of “no time” as we have provided you with some techniques to manage your time!
