Imagina Más: #AlzaLaVoz

Imagina Más, the ONG that everyone should know. As you may have already noticed, the blog posts that we publish in December are completely different from the ones that we usually write. We have broken our pattern to get into the Christmas spirit and, above all, to tell you something about important topics, such as social commitment and social responsibility.

Social media sends us in many wonderful realities and they often make us forget the real world and the problems that our society and many people face every day. This time helpMadrid has decided to use these means to spread a message and to spread awareness among the tenants of its shared flats. Actually, we are going to introduce you an ONG settled in Madrid that works in three main areas: HIV and other STDs (sexually transmitted diseases), prostitution and social actions.

We have already mentioned it in our blog post dedicated to the donations. Do you remember it? Every year, helpMadrid encourages its tenants to donate the items that they don’t need anymore or that do not fit in the suitcase. Imagina Más is one of the organisations that will receive the donations. Moreover, we have decided to support them and to spread their message among the tenants of our shared flats. Social commitment is important and we have the responsibility to talk with you about it!

About Imagina Más

Imagina Más fights against discrimination, social exclusion and stand up for equality and diversity. They work hard for health, education, prevention and for the mitigation of the stigma of HIV. A very important mission, right? We agree with their ideas and, therefore, we have decided to support them and to begin your education in this respect. This is your chance to discover this ONG and to become part of this project.

We agree with their mission and we agree with their values. First, respect: every person deserves to be respected. Then we have social transformation: social equality is possible and we can reach it. Creativity is a great mean to get to ameliorate our society and to create alternatives to increase the health of the citizens. Then we have innovation of paramount importance to create solutions to HIV and social problems. Last, but not least, we have the engagement: fondness is the key to keep working and to gain social equality.

This is just a quick overview about this amazing organization and we suggest you to have a look at their web and to follow their actions on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter! Before saying goodbye, let us tell you few other words about their last campaign #AlzaLaVoz, their way to fight against the HIV stigma.

#AlzaLaVoz

Imagina Más has recently begun a campaign called #AlzaLaVoz and helpMadrid has had the honour to be part of its launch. Why are they raising their voices? HIV is often used as an insult and a discriminatory factor. They raise their voices in order to face this negative attitude towards people living with HIV. This campaign has already had a great welcome and it was widely reported by the media. They have many supporters as well, such as Agatha Ruiz de la Prada, the Spanish stylist has actually designed the logo of the campaign, and many other famous actors. Share this hashtag on your social networks and stand with them towards the stigma of HIV.

helpMadrid strongly believes that social commitment and social awareness are two important values that should be transmitted. This post is our way to be part and to make you part of their mission. If you are one of our tenants, remember to donate the items you will not bring back home with you. A small gesture to help them creating a better society.

If you are interested in Imagina Más, stay tuned! We have interviewed them and we will post it soon.

For the time being… Raise your voice and support them with us!
