This city has so many astonishing places that it is hard to choose where we can bring you every month. Let us know if there is a city sightseeing that you would love to do with us.

For the time being, just put on your walking shoes and get around architectural sites with us!

Caixa Forum

First stop of our walk is the Caixa Forum Madrid. Besides holding several interesting and entertaining exhibition, the Caixa Forum is an amazing building. It was an ancient power station and it has been redesigned by Herzog & de Meuron in 2011. Its structure, the Vertical Garden and the stairway are with no doubt noteworthy. If you visit Madrid, this building is something that you cannot miss. If you live here, well, you know what we mean… Let’s cross the street, go up a little “hill” and enter in the astonishing Retiro Park; something special is waiting for us.

Palacio de Cristal

And here we are! The beautiful, breath-taking, unbelievable Palacio de Cristal. As the previous architectural site, it often hosts exhibitions, but it is noteworthy because it is an example of cast-iron architecture. It was built in 1887 and designed by Ricardo Velàsquez Bosco. Actually, this majestic building is one of the reason why we love the Retiro Park so much. Suggestion? Do not miss the Palacio de Cristal during autumn; you will be charmed. Unfortunately, we must go on with our walk. Let’s go in the Castillana Street and straight to the impressive towers.

Cuatros torres

Impressive, we could not find another word to describe this architectural site. It is not just because of the high towers, but because of the entire complex. These modern towers are part of the Business district in the Paseo de la Castellana and are the tallest skyscrapers in Spain. What are their names? Torre de Cristal, Torre Cepsa, Torre PwC and Torre Espacio designed respectively by Cesar Pelli, Lord Foster, Carvajal and Walter and Henry N. Cobb. Let’s say goodbye to this beautiful Business area to go back in time.

Plaza de Toros de Las Ventas

Here we are, in front of the Plaza de Toro, the Spanish most important bullring. It has been designed by José Espeliu in the Neo-Mudéjar style with ceramic incrustations and has been inaugurated in 1931. This amazing building hosts one of the most traditional shows in Spain, the bullfighting. Even if you are not going to watch bullfighting, the value of this building is priceless and we suggest you to visit it and enjoy its beauty. Our walk must go on…

Museo ABC

Once upon a time (1891) an architect called Salaberry who decided to create a museum dedicated to drawing and to the illustrations. “The result is a project that not only renovates the space for its new use, but also beautifies the urban setting by providing the city with an innovative building that respects its original architecture.” (Directly by the official web of the museum). Whether you are an artist or not, you will certainly enjoy this beautiful building, its structure and its functions. Sorry, we are late and we have to move (sad emoticon).

Templo de Debod

It is time to walk in another park till the ancient and exotic Debod Temple (2nd century BC), an Egyptian heritage donated to Spain in order to prevent damages caused by floods. We are on time to enjoy an amazing sunset with a breath taking view of the Royal Palace and the Cathedral.

Oh my word, it has been a long walk! We have covered great distances today and now it is time to rest in our cosy rooms. Are you already in your shared flat? We cannot wait to go home and tell our flat mates the great tour we did today. So much beauty in a day.

We enjoy winter so much, that we did not realize that spring arrives soon (only five days left!). Have you already plans for summer? Summer means adventures; summer means unforgettable experiences; summer means travels. We suggest you not to miss the chance to spend some months abroad, maybe with us in Madrid or, why not, in other Spanish cities such as Valencia or Barcelona.
